KINETIK Receives Prestigious Unreal Dev Grant


Hero Machine Studios is honored to be named as recipients of an Unreal Engine Dev Grant! This grant is given by Epic games to projects that demonstrate promising use of their powerful Unreal Engine. This grant will help Hero Machine with production costs as we move rapidly through pre-Alpha.

To celebrate the Dev Grant, we’re making one of our key blueprints from KINETIK free to developers for free use in their own projects. The “exploding mesh’ blueprint created by Hero Machine Studios CTO Kevin McPherson allows Unreal Engine 4 developers to create destructible environments on par with those found in AAA releases.


“This is a blueprint for exploding static meshes that has a burning
state, does radial damage, and is setup for proper replication and multiplayer gameplay.

For KINETIK we also added the spawning of propagated fire."
